Who pays the fee, and how much?

Non-resident hiking on your own (DIY)

When SIMplifica is down or unresponsive

The portal has known capacity issues during peak booking windows (early morning Madeira time, weekends, just before bank holidays). If the page hangs, returns a 500 error, or the payment screen times out, you have three fallbacks:

Wait and retry off-peak. Try 22:00-07:00 Madeira time (UTC). Booking windows clear within minutes once load drops.
Book a protocol operator. Licensed operators handle SIMplifica internally and have allocated capacity. See verified partners. If the portal is down for everyone, this is the only realistic same-day option.

"Payment method not accepted"

"No availability"

English language broken / not switching
